Improve The Class

There weren't a lot of things that could be improved in the lab. Everything was pretty cool. Cassie Wagler always knew how to help and never had an issue with helping anyone. However, the lectures could of been a little more interesting. If we could have had a short lecture and a longer lab it would of definitely done everyone some good. It's not that the lectures were really dreadful, its just that all of the lecture power point presentations were available online, so even if one would miss a lecture it wasn't like they would be lost in the class. All in all it was a fun class, and I definitely learned some things: which is obviously the goal in any class.

Behind The Screen

For this weeks blog assignment, we had to go to the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria Queens and part take in a demo. I chose the Behind The Screen demo because I, myself, have a fascinating interest in Film and the idea of making it. I thought it was phenomenal that there were so many different machines that could produce films. I was not aware from an outsiders perspective that so many different mechanisms have evolved since the first film and that some of them are still used today. The different types of equipment that have been used for example, television cameras, projectors, sound recording equipment, different costumes, other merchandise - dolls and other toys. I was not aware that some of the original things that have created some of the biggest sitcoms as well as films of our time, used some of the oldest types of technologies as oppose to some of the newest. It's cool that we learn something new everyday, especially when you intend on actually trying to pursue something as film in the future. People throughout different generations can come see this exhibit and grasp the idea that technology always changes and evolves, however anything that one can use will still be a valuable piece of equipment to create something amazing. Technology may change, but people would still use old items for their films and television sitcoms.

Artist Statement

Growing up, I loved film. Every week I would patiently wait until a new movie would be released in the theaters. Getting older while I was in my late teens, I finally realized when I read some material that was later made into a film, that film would be the field I want to be in. Produce, maybe even at some point try to write. Eventually going into directing, as well as owning a production company of some sort within cinema. Making and creating a basic idea as well as oversee the production of a film. Bring back the classical and mature material.
Another thing that I would love to get into is production within music. Basically create a production company that would ultimately create revenue from different types of media. Whether it’s music or film or even maybe a website.  Generate awareness within the general public to the entertainment industry, so that everyone can enjoy the entertainment for the first time, every time. Generally, any genre of music that would build up curiosity so that it would stimulate my mind and make me think about as well as divulge into the substance within the music. Even in my background, my grandfather was a famous musician in Europe, and has played with other significantly legendary musicians, such as Duke Ellington. So, I feel I understand music because of my genetic background. Basically, owning a production company would definitely be the ultimate goal.
However, in my life, I would prefer to establish myself as a producer within film, maybe perhaps even write a few screenplays and finally achieve some success within directing before I actually divulge into a different scenario in media. After the completion of a production company, I would definitely see myself going into music. Going as far as producing as well, and finally making the production company into something that of an umbrella corporation.
